The Energy Debate: Balancing the energy mix

In association with Brewin Dolphin, the NECC and The Journal.

The North East as a region has a wealth of energy sources, a strong supply chain network and the expertise to be able to harness and export these resources. The question is, how as a region will we utilise the opportunities available and secure a more balanced energy future?

Chris Huhne, former Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, will join our panel of acknowledged regional industry experts including Neil Etherington, Able Uk, Jim Cardwell, Northern Powergrid and James Ramsbotham, North East Chamber of Commerce to discuss the key issues facing the North East:

  • How will we balance the energy resources available?
  • Is shale gas viable and what are the opportunities?
  • What are the issues facing the import of energy in light of international developments?
  • With the strength of expertise in the region across the energy mix, how do we make the most of export potential?
