Square One Law partners welcome arrival of two new experienced lawyers

Partners, Mark Lazenby, Gillian Hulls and James Bryce of Square One Law are delighted to welcome experienced litigator, Neil Harrison and corporate lawyer Ashraf Ali to the firm.

Neil Harrison joins the litigation team as a senior associate from Bond Dickinson. He has over 20 years’ practical experience as a litigation/commercial dispute resolution lawyer advising on a wide range of commercial disputes, risk assessment and mitigation strategies in the public, education, health, transport, housing, energy, sports and manufacturing sectors.

He is very experienced in all aspects of EU procurement law including procurement related disputes, commercial contractual disputes, PFI disputes; judicial review proceedings and public law disputes.

Head of litigation, Gillian Hulls said: “Neil is already proving to be a great addition to our expanding team. He has extensive experience of mediation, arbitration and adjudication as well as the procurement process for both the private and public sectors. I have no doubt that he will make a great contribution to the team and the firm as a whole.”

Ashraf Ali has made the move from the Manchester office of London-based law firm Laytons, to join the corporate commercial team as an associate. He recently assisted with the disposal of a Dubai based deep sea oil engineering business operating in 8 jurisdictions globally and acted for the fund managers of the £184m North West Fund, advising on individual investments.
Ashraf said: “I grew up in the North East and studied at Durham University so I was looking for an opportunity to return.”
