CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility is a vital element of any business and at Square One Law we take CSR very seriously.

When the firm was started we set out to promote positive social and economic change in a different way. As our brand has grown, our commitment to promoting positive change has grown with it.

We see CSR as an important part of our culture. The firm has a continuing commitment to behave ethically and professionally, to contribute to the region’s economic development, to offer a good quality work environment and to support chosen charities and local community projects.

The firm has set up a charitable trust at The Community Foundation to support local projects that will bring positive change to the region.

We also support Maggie’s Cancer Centre, based at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital. Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer as well as their family and friends. The centre relies entirely on donations to offer this exceptional service to everyone in the region.

Each year, we choose one local organisation as our charity of the year. For 2020, we will be supporting The West End Women and Girl’s Centre. The Centre is an invaluable resource to the women and girls of Newcastle, and is the only open access centre of its kind.

We also think as a law firm it is important that we contribute our time and expertise to support initiatives which will have a longer term benefit to the region.

By devoting time and expertise to strategic boards, sitting as non-executive directors, we are able to assist the economic renaissance of the North East.

Key initiatives we support through non-executive or trustee positions include:

  • The Community Foundation
  • Gatsby Foundation Good Career Benchmarks
  • Asian Business Connexions
