Utilitywise is a leading independent utility cost management consultancy offering energy procurement and energy management products and services to its business customers throughout the UK. The acquisition of Aqua Veritas will add a portfolio of integrated services to Utilitywise’s core energy services offering and will enable Utilitywise’s clients to reduce their water utility costs, streamline their bill management processes and improve their environmental performance. In addition, the acquisition secures ‘Osiris’ the intellectual property used to develop Utilitywise’s multi-utility reporting platform.

This was the first transaction that Square One Law have advised Utilitywise on and the team consisted of James Bryce, Marie-Louise Bozonet (Corporate Finance) and Liz Cotton (Employment).

James Bryce commented: “It was very rewarding to support Utilitywise in delivering another important part of its growth strategy. Our flexible, client focussed structure meant that we were able to work closely with the Utilitywise team in achieving its objectives.”

Marie-Louise Bozonet

Geoff Thompson, CEO of Utilitywise, commented: “We were extremely pleased with the support we received from Square One Law, particularly given the very short timetable in which the transaction was delivered.”

Utilitywise PLC operates from its headquarters in South Shields where it currently employs around 430 staff across its operations.
