Invitation to a special briefing

“COMMUNICATING WITH GOVERNMENT AND THE RULES THAT APPLY”

With a rapidly changing political landscape including the development of the Northern Powerhouse there is real interest in ensuring the Government understands the unique needs of business in the North East.

With this in mind we are holding a special briefing that explains some of the rules regarding the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-Party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Act and give some guidance on how to ensure key messages are received by decision makers. Whilst the Act was one of the last laws introduced by the Coalition Government, it has the potential to limit the freedom of businesses to interact with the current Government.

The event takes place on 25 November 2015 – the same day as the Government is announcing its long-term spending plans in the Autumn Statement.

The event will be chaired by Graham Robb, North East chairman of the Institute of Directors – which represents business to Government at a national level.
