Brussels Office

“Brexit uncertainty poses the greatest threat to business” – 90% of Finance Chiefs, Deloitte Survey October 2016.

Whatever the ultimate outcome of Brexit negotiations, internationally mobile companies will still need access to EU institutions and the ability to influence key decision makers in the EU. Even businesses that do not carry out traditional exporting activities may still be subjected to EU laws or standards.

To ensure that our clients still have the ability to influence matters within the EU, we have entered into an alliance with the only remaining EU-boutique practice in Brussels, Kemmlers.

The principal lawyers in Kemmlers have spent virtually their whole careers living and working in Brussels dealing with EU laws for a variety of multi-national businesses and trade associations. The team has handled complex matters in relation to anti-trust, State aid, employment, trade, anti-dumping and tariffs and quotas.

There is the additional benefit that the office has a fantastic position on Rond-Point Schuman at the heart of the Institutions and is less than 100 metres from the Council of Europe, the world famous Berlayment headquarters of the Commission and the EEAS, the European External Action Service (the “foreign office” of the EU), making it a very convenient location for meetings.

Whatever the political outcome of the Brexit negotiations, businesses need to be able to access the right people at the right time and the benefit for our clients is that Square One Law can facilitate this on behalf of our clients.
