Management Buy Out at Northumberland based Site and Field Services
John is a partner in our corporate and commercial teams. He joined Square One Law in April 2012 and regularly advises shareholders and private and public sector organisations across a range of sectors.
Having trained at Travers Smith in London before moving back to Newcastle, John gained experience as an in-house solicitor at One North East, the former regional development agency. As a result, he has a good understanding of how clients want legal services to be delivered.
John advises on all corporate matters, including acquisitions and disposals (most recently advising shareholders on the disposal of Walker Filtration Limited), fundraisings (including grant, loan or equity funding), shareholder arrangements and corporate reorganisations. In addition he advises on a wide range of commercial agreements and governance arrangements.
John also advises not-for-profit organisations and their trustees/directors on a range of commercial matters, including their establishment and registration with The Charity Commission/CIC Regulator (as required), the incorporation and use of trading subsidiaries, compliance with funding agreements, charity mergers and trustee duties. John has assisted many sports clubs with the process of registering or maintaining their registrations as Community Amateur Sports Clubs.
