Square One Law congratulates Utilitywise on AIM Awards win

Square One Law congratulates its client Utilitywise plc whose CEO Geoff Thompson won the “Best Use of AIM Award” at the 18th Annual AIM awards dinner held on 10th October in London. The prestigious dinner was attended by over 1,300 business men and women.

The awards come as the AIM market raised £478m through company floats during the third quarter of 2013, almost two thirds more than the amount raised in the same quarter in 2012, and celebrate the very best of the fast growing entrepreneurial companies on AIM, both in the UK and internationally.

The North East had two big winners on the night – Geoff Thompson triumphed in the “Best Use of AIM” category and Robert Forrester of Gateshead based Vertu Motors plc won “Entrepreneur of the Year.”

Senior partner Ian Gilthorpe said: “It is really good to see the North East so well represented at the AIM awards this year. The strengths of this market mean we are seeing a marked increase in companies looking to use AIM as a means of raising long-term capital to fund expansion and acquisitions. This is also evidenced by the high level of attendance and interest in our Raising Finance event last week where Geoff was a business leader on our panel of speakers.”
