Square One Law apprentice wins award

We are delighted to announce that Louise Harrison-McMaster has been awarded Apprentice of the Month by Profound Services.

Louise is currently completing her level 2 apprenticeship in business administration with the firm and has been supporting the business services team.

Louise said: “I started looking for apprenticeships after deciding that college wasn’t for me. I found that I learnt more when shown things, rather than learning in a classroom. I’d never considered an apprenticeship until I got to college and wanted to use this type of opportunity as a way into a career.

“I applied for vacancies through the National Apprenticeship Service website, where I found the Square One Law scheme, I wasn’t expecting to find an apprenticeship at a law firm but I was really pleased to be offered the opportunity.”

Louise has nearly completed her apprenticeship and has been offered a full time role within the business.

Louise continued, “I really enjoy my job and find the coursework helpful as it links in with my daily duties. I have gained a lot of new skills and experience and I am now a lot more confident than I ever was. I would encourage people to consider an apprenticeship as it is a way of learning whilst getting experience in the job along with a wage too.”

Operations manager, Donna Bennett commented: “This is fantastic news. Although I have only worked with Louise for seven months, it is very clear to see that Louise is a bright and motivated individual who is keen to learn and expand her knowledge.  Louise fits in very well with the culture at Square One Law and has made fantastic progress in her current role. Well done on everything you have achieved Louise.”
