Square One Law advises OpenWorks Engineering on a seven-figure investment

Square One Law advised OpenWorks Engineering, Northumberland-based Technology company, on its seven-figure fundraising from investors including Ian Baggett of Adderstone Group.

OpenWorks develops world-leading security and counter terrorism products used by governments, airports and private security companies to protect threats posed by commercially available drones. Its award winning and innovative drone capture system, SkyWall, captures drones by firing a projectile net and parachute at the threat while minimising any risk of collateral damage; and includes automatic and handheld versions.

The company which was established in 2015 by Chris Down, Neil Armstrong, Alex Wilkinson, James Cross, and Roland Wilkinson plans to use the funding to increase its manufacturing capacity as well as accelerate its research and development of the next generation of SkyWall products.

Roland Wilkinson, finance director at OpenWorks said “As our business has continued to grow we have built a great relationship with Charlie and the team at Square One Law and their continued expertise, support and advice has been invaluable.”

Charlie Fielding, corporate partner at Square One Law said: “We have worked with OpenWorks and the team for a few years now, and we are delighted to have helped them secure this funding to continue the development of their portfolio of world-leading technology.”
