Square One Law supports continued expansion of Sunderland based Maxim FM

The North East’s largest independent contract cleaning and facilities management business Maxim Facilities Management Ltd has continued with its national expansion plans following the acquisition of CLT Services in Leeds.

The Wearside firm has grown rapidly since inception in 2010 and has now made 3 strategic acquisitions in the last 2 years. In 2014 it acquired the contract cleaning division of local contractor Newlife Cleaning Systems (North) Ltd and also expanded into Scotland with acquisition of Glasgow based Ross Cleaning Services.

Managing Director Graham Conway said the acquisition of CLT forms a key part of the company’s national expansion strategy. He said “CLT Services has been established as a family business for over 25 years, and the purchase significantly strengthens our base in the Leeds area. In addition to the acquisition, we are also enjoying organic growth in and around this key conurbation and are confident this will continue, particularly given the strength of the operational team we have acquired from CLT’’.

Maxim FM provides services ranging from large scale contract cleaning of commercial premises through to grounds maintenance, painting and decorating and deep clean services for laboratories, hospitals and technical areas. The company serves an impressive array of blue chip clients which include PLC’s, national retailers, housing associations, public sector organisations and large educational establishments.

Mr Conway further added: “We are continuing our strategy of expansion through a careful mix of acquisition and organic sales. This has worked well for us in Scotland and our attention is now focused on the rest of the UK. We are well aware we operate in a very competitive marketplace and in order to continue growing we are fully cognisant of the need to improve our service offering and utilise new and innovative methodologies to add value to our clients”.

James Bryce, partner at Square One Law advised on the transaction ‘’We were delighted to support the Maxim FM team on this project. Having worked with Maxim FM on all their recent acquisitions we look forward to being part of the team in delivering their strategy moving forward. ”
