Winners: North East Corporate Law Firm of the Year

In September Square One Law was named NE Corporate Law Firm of the Year at the Insider Dealmakers’ Awards, beating a shortlist that included Bond Dickinson, Ward Hadaway, Watson Burton, Muckle and Sintons.

Senior partner, Ian Gilthorpe said, “The firm has just celebrated its third anniversary so this award, voted by the business community, is great recognition of how far we have come.

“The corporate team completed an impressive 60 deals in the last 12 months, but the award is for the whole team as corporate deals require input and support from many areas across the firm. It’s a great boost for all our people and everyone understands that awards like this are only because of the great clients we work with.”

Since the awards dinner, Square One Law has strengthened its corporate team further by the recruitment of senior associate, Dean Murray, who joins from the commercial team at Bond Dickinson.

Ian continued, “The firm is going from strength to strength and we will shortly be announcing 6 other senior recruits, including two new partners. We can see opportunities across all areas of the business and our recruitment is led by the needs of our clients.”
