The Lakes Distillery is the largest distillery in England, and is the lifelong dream of experienced whisky entrepreneur Paul Currie.
Located on the edge of the picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake, the distillery is reviving an age-old tradition as well as providing a boost to the local economy. Additionally, The Lakes Distillery boasts a visitor centre with the Bistro at the Distillery, tours, and gift shop; each being aimed at showcasing locally-sourced Cumbrian produce.
A lot of thought has gone into the production process at the distillery to ensure it produces a malt whisky of outstanding quality as well as one of the finest gins and vodka available in the UK. The plant has been carefully designed to the highest specification, and its copper stills have been made to unique designs, on a small artisan scale, meaning it can lovingly produce its spirits without the need of mass production.
